Amsterdam based painter Yvonne Melchers' focus is on realistic/figurative oil paintings. Her main series are the Dutch North Sea coast, Italian Scenes, Portraits of modern Italian men and boys in historical costumes (Siena Palio Portraits) and Rooms with a View.
She has made a small series of still lifes of flowers and fruits. Portraits or other subjects by commission. Known for her fresh colors with the very limited palette of Claude Monet.
Exhibitions in Italy, Spain and the US, but mostly in The Netherlands in galleries, at art fairs and in the Museum Møhlmann several times a year. Currently some works available on Artsy.net through Abend Gallery (Denver/US) and 33Contemporary (Chicago/US).
Selected at Summer Expo 2012 The Hague Gemeente (Municipal) Museum.
Semi-finalist at BP Portrait Award 2015 and 2018, Dutch Portrait Award 2017 and Figurativas Barcelona 2017 and 2019. Semi-finalist ModPortrait Zaragoza/Barcelona in 2017 and 2020. Nominated Dutch Portrait Award 2019. Finalist in 14th Salon of Art Renewal Center 2019 and semi-finalist in 15th Salon of ARC in 2020.
Published in magazines and numerous books on realistic/figurative work and in seven theme issues of PoetsArtists Magazine in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Publication in Fine Art Connoisseur art magazine 2019 and American Art Collector art magazine in 2020. Added to “Grandes Autores” on website ArteLibre in 2018. Invited with 200 international artists to participate in Exhibition “20x20” of Galería ArteLibre which is held in Zaragoza and at the Museum MEAM in Barcelona in 2019 and at the Palazzo Einaudi in Chivasso/Italy in 2020 (Chivasso postponed due to pandemic). Work in numerous private collections around the world, in collection Academic Medical Center Amsterdam and in Museum Møhlmann Appingedam/The Netherlands.
