About Irena Roman
Irena Roman is signature member of The American Watercolor Society, The Transparent Watercolor Society of America and The New England Watercolor Society.
She has twice received the Watercolor West Award from The National Watercolor Society, a High Winds Medal of Honor and the Ralph Smith Memorial Award from The American Watercolor Society and two golds and one silver medal from the New England Watercolor Society.
Her paintings have also appeared in Creative Quarterly (voted into the Top 100 of 2017), Splash: 20 Years of Contemporary Watercolor Excellence and in Splash; The Best of Watercolor (volumes 9,10,11,13 and 18). In 2012, American Artist Watercolor magazine featured her work in an article entitled Letting the Sun Shine In.
Her illustration work has been recognized in Communication Arts illustration annuals and in Print's Regional Design annuals. She received a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles and a Gold Medal from the Dallas Advertising Club. Her clients include HarperCollins Publishers, Little Brown Publishing, The New Yorker magazine, Toray International, Japan, Canadian Art Prints, Hormel, and many others.
Additionally, Irena is a professor at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston with over twenty years of teaching experience. She also conducts adult watercolor workshops
